I am against the governmental action of having any police authority come to a person's home and enter on suspicion that there is something wrong occurring within the house. I believe that the person that lives in the house as an absolute right to deny such an entrance by the police figure. But, I do understand the government's intentions in an attempt of keeping the local community safe and free of harm.
Another governmental action that I am against, is line/phone tapping, in where a person listens upon an American individual's phone conversation with another person. Once again, the government only does this in response to keeing the nation safe. But is there a limit? Shouldn't American individuals deserve their freedom and privacy from such things?
Martin Luther King Jr. Once Said, "A right delayed is a right denied." So this implicates the American nation's present situation in a certain things.

Bradbury's Writing Style
Copy and paste five quotes that you like from your classmates. What is Bradbury's writing style? What kind of figurative language does he use? Give some examples. How is Bradbury's writing style different from Arthur Miller's?
1. Mildred: My 'family' is people. They tell me things: I laught, they laugh! And the colors"
2. Clarisse: "So many people are afraid of firemen, I mean. But you're just a man, after all..."
3. Clarisse: "I am seventeen and I am crazy"
4. Montag: "I am, very much in love" (with books?)
5. Clarisse: "Sometimes I'm ancient. I'm afriad of children my own age. They kill each other. Did it always use to be that way?"
Bradbury's Writing style seems to be very figurative, in the sense that he has characters (Mildred) fall in love and devotion for silly objects such as a wall. His writing contrasts greatly to that of Arthur Miller that he uses a lot of metaphors, and his writing discusses the future of humanity, while Miller's talks about a past event with "old" english. Figurative language of Bradbury: "My 'family' is people. They tell me things: I laught, they laugh! And the colors"

Science Fiction
Science Fiction is a genre of fiction. It differs from fantasy in that, within the context of the story, its imaginary elements are largely possible within scientifically-established or scientifically-postulated laws of nature (though some elements in a story might still be pure imaginative speculation). Exploring the consequences of such differences is the traditional purpose of science fiction, making it a "literature of ideas". Science fiction is largely based on writing rationally about alternative possibilities. The settings for science ficiton are contrary to known reality.
HG Wells, Jules Verne, and WIlliam Gibson are some famous Scientific authors, just to name a few. I think my topic for the science fiction story my group creates will revolve somewhere around an extraterristial source from Mars. Having aliens attack or live amongst humans on earth seems to be a very appealing idea and setting to me.

Big Media
After looking back at all that I do in a typical day's worth in my life, I realized that media plays a big role in it.
List of Media Items I Consume:
-Madden (Football: EA Games)
-Times (Political PR Ploys)
-Journalism (Political PR ploys)
-CNN (Controlled and censored by the government and whatnot).
-San Jose Mercury News (San Jose County)
-Seventeen magazine (Apparently Columbia Journalism)
-MTV (State/Government/Collaborative Ownership of the Station)
-NHL Videogames (EA Games Company)
And that's pretty much a day's worth of material. Aside from all the music I listen to on youtube, which is supposively owned and certified to "UniversalMusicGroup."

Banned Books
Go to this link about banned books. What are the general reasons books are banned? What does this say about our culture and our country? Have you read any of the books on the list? How would your education be affected if you didn't read that book?
From looking at the list of books on the banned list, I noticed that a lot of them I had previously read, or was going to read this upcoming junior year. The general reason(s) books are banned for three main reasons: spreading unnecessary propaganda to the state, representing institutionalized racism under the guise of good literature, and for containing foul language. This says that our culture and country are not very acceptant of books that discuss such topics, and that we'd rather stay a distance from doing such a thing. Many argue that it's because of the foul language that the books contain, that we don't read them, when in reality it's because they're books that actually cause people to "think." Yes I have read a couple of the books that are on the list, inclduing "Of Mice and Men." My education wouldn't be affected drastically, but it won't cause me to think about the many situations that out world and nation face as a whole.

The last Meow Activity 9 Part 1
Words:
1. Raved, ravishing, ermine coat, pale-green eyes. The author made this comparison to describe Lady as an animal that was once strong before , but like a queen becomes weak at the end of her life.2. the specific gravity of a man who know exactly where to reach his. Shawn likes to work on old cars and 'transform' them into hot street rods. Similarily, Lady in her current state is just like an old car, and he attempts to get her back to her original healthy state.
3. Medical Terminology:
1. Throes of chronic renal failure
2. Toxins in her blood (blood poisioning/wastes)
3. Dialysis (kidney failure)
4. Blood Pressure (cholestoral rises)
Bilger uses all of these medical terminology to explain Lady's health state. He wants to depict and express and image to the readers concerning how much Lady's health has deterioated over the past year, and the situation that Shawn must now face.
4.
Lady: The patient/child, or the one that needs care from others. Lady can also depict a human being that lacks health care.
Shawn Levering: Like the parent, overseer, or guardian, that cares enough to go through the many sacrifices to pay for his or her child.
Cathy Langston: The Doctor, the health benefactor. She has the power to determine whether her patient (Lady) will live or die.
The first three paragraphs depicts the many problems that lady and her owner face. It explores the sacrifices that many other pet owners have to make for the sake of their pet, out of love and care. It might additionally explore the poverty and other factors that prevent owners from fulfilling the health care that their pets might need.
Paragraphs:
1. In this article they give us a detailed account of specific owner's situation and his pet's health problems/condition. Unlike where as a newspaper will give you a general view of a problem that might affect a community as a whole.
